ok when you goto “Control Panel > Speech” is there anywhere you can get other voices insted of just “Microsoft Sam” ? is there a website one can goto, to download more..? please help..

Yea, go to downloads.com, there is a sound software, i don’t remember the name of it, but i used it for a presentation i had to do.

As I said it has a feature called ” Text to Speech ” which I would very much like to use as I write short stories. I’d love to hear the words spoken back to me of this text.

I have been able to bring up the window ” Text to Speech ” on the Help Menu , and have selected a computerized voice and sound volume .

Problem is I do not know how to get it to actually work when I have a page of text on the monitor screen . I see nothing when the text is displayed that indicates ” activate Text to Speech ” . Can anybody tell me how to do that ? Very much appreciated ..

I have Windows Vista, and I can’t find “Speech” in the control panel. Does anyone with Vista know where I can find the Speech program where you type stuff in and the computer says it? Thanks.

Just click start and type “speech”. It will come up.
