First of all check in your sound recording application if you can find any option to select between your recording source (like microphone, line-in etc…), most probably the default source would be the microphone input.
If you can’t configure/change this in your program, try this: If you are using Windows, go to system tray and open volume control -> go to Options -> recording, select here your new recording source, probably something called like “wave-table”, “sound mix”, or even “what you hear” (as it is named on my case).. .try them until you get it right .
