About 15 years ago I had a friend who was developing voice recognition software for a telephone company. He had set up a test phone number where you could call and tell the computer a name and city and it would repeat the name and tell you the phone number and address of the person. Of course, being a smart-alec, I would tell it obscenities, and it would come up with the names of real people that sounded similar.
Found this in the relateds. So funny! I genuinely did laugh out loud. Well, more of a long snigger. It occurs to me that the computer was just having a conversation back. It understood perfectly.
Looks like that program would try anyone’s patience.
@MenchiTide thanks! Glad I could be of service!
This still makes me literally break into mad laughter each time.
Elise, this is brilliant =D
LOL. It can’t understand your accent, can it? Poor VRS, trying it’s little best to help you!
hahaha!!! i loved it!!!
No I hadn’t thought of that!
Have you tried putting it in front of the television to see what happens?
Ian Harris, OK
I think the problem here is that you are using a lot of inflection in your voice as if you were talking to an animal
LOL, this was hilarious! :p

Yeah, speech recognition is notoriously hard task for a computer to do. Scientists still don’t understand how humans do it so well.
I am not using it right now (away from home and in an internet cafe) but I think it is somewhere in accessories.
howd u go there
i have that computer
What’s that pinada 103-”ENGLICH U.S and BRITIN?” Is that the same as ENGLISH U.S. and Britain? Maybe you need some keyboard recognition software…
You’ve got to be firm with those things otherwise they’ll run rings around you!
What a hoot! I want some of that software!
It is a custom-made for the UK market program, so there is no need to shout or be insulting.
idiot, THATS BECAUSE THIS PROGRAM HIS FOR ENGLICH U.S, NOT BRITIN IDIOT !
hahahahah
Thanks – it’s an honour. Have a good weekend.
